(ECNS) -- China added 74.33 million kilowatts of wind and solar power capacity in the first quarter of 2025, bringing the cumulative installed capacity to 1.482 billion kilowatts, surpassing thermal power capacity (1.451 billion kilowatts) for the first time, according to the latest data from the National Energy Administration of China.
The administration stated that with the continued rapid growth of wind and solar installations, the trend of wind and solar power capacity surpassing thermal power will become the norm.
