(ECNS) -- The 2025 FIBA 3x3 Asia Cup concluded in Singapore on Sunday. The Chinese men's basketball team narrowly lost to Australia by two points in the final, securing the silver medal and marking the best achievement in its history.
Meanwhile, the Chinese women's team claimed the bronze medal, with Zhou Mengyun earning a spot in this tournament's Women's All-Star Team.

Comprising four players—Guo Hanyu, Yan Peng, Zhang Dianliang, and Xiang Zhichao—the Chinese men's team cruised past Qatar by 19-11 in the quarterfinals to secure a spot in the semis. Facing Japan in the semifinals, Team China maintained defensive pressure throughout the game, ultimately claiming a 19-15 victory to advance to the final.
In the gold medal match against a formidable Australian team, the Chinese squad delivered its most fluid offensive performance of the tournament. The game remained tightly contested, with neither side gaining a significant edge. However, a crucial foul in the final moments allowed Australia to secure a narrow victory by just two points through free throws, leaving China with a hard-fought silver medal.
Guo stood out with four successful long-range shots, finishing with 11 points and 3 rebounds.
In the women's competition, China's team, comprising Hu Duoling, Li Wenxia, Li Yuyan, and Zhou Mengyun, defeated Vietnam 17-15 in the quarterfinals. They fought hard against defending champions Australia in the semifinal, but lost 15-21 due to height and physical disadvantages.
In the bronze medal match, they bounced back with a dominant 21-11 win over the Philippines. Zhou stood out, scoring 37 points in total as the second among all female players. She was named to the tournament's Women's All-Star Team.
China's women's team previously won their first FIBA 3x3 Asia Cup title in 2022, defeating Australia 14-10.
