Chinese fencers won the men's sabre team title Friday in the final day of the 2012 Asian Fencing Championships held in the city of Wakayama in western Japan.
The Chinese team's road to the final was not bumpy at all. They defeated Malaysia and Iran before the final duel against the South Koreans.
The Chinese fencers were outperformed by their opponents at the start of the competition, but they rallied to gain the upper hand and win eventually 45-39. Iran team took the third place.
In women's sabre team final, China lost to South Korea 45-31. The bronze medal went to Japan.
South Korea harvested nine golds, while China clinched three at the six-day event.
