China asks U.S. to stop politicizing, instrumentalizing trade

The United States should stop politicizing and instrumentalizing trade issues, Foreign Ministry spokesman Lin Jian said on Wednesday.

Lin made the remarks at a regular news conference after the U.S. Postal Service announced it will temporarily suspend international package acceptance of inbound parcels from the Chinese mainland and Hong Kong without providing a reason.

The U.S. should stop cracking down on Chinese companies, Lin said, adding that China will continue to take necessary measures to safeguard the lawful rights of Chinese companies.
