(ECNS) -- The Vietnamese Navy's vessel Le Quy Don arrived at a port in Guangzhou City, south China's Guangdong Province, for a five-day friendly visit, according to the Chinese Navy on Monday.
At around 5 p.m., the Le Quy Don, escorted by a Chinese naval vessel, docked at the port. On board were 118 Vietnamese naval officers and cadets. Representatives of the Chinese People's Liberation Army (PLA) Southern Theater Command warmly welcomed their arrival.
It's Le Quy Don's first visit to Guangzhou and also the Vietnamese Navy's second visit to China this year, following earlier visits by the missile frigates Tran Hung Dao and Quang Trung to Beihai City, in south China's Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region.
During this visit, the Chinese and Vietnamese navies will engage in mutual ship tours, professional and technical exchanges, as well as cultural and sports activities. The Vietnamese side will host a deck reception aboard the Le Quy Don.
In addition, Vietnamese naval personnel will visit local landmarks, including the Guangdong Museum and the relic site of the Vietnamese Revolutionary Youth League.
