(ECNS) — Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Lin Jian said on Thursday that China will grant visa-free entry to citizens from Brazil, Argentina, Chile, Peru, and Uruguay as part of its effort to facilitate cross-border travel and strengthen ties with the countries.
At a regular press briefing, Lin said that starting June 1, 2025, until May 31, 2026, holders of ordinary passports from the five countries can enter China without a visa for up to 30 days for purposes such as business, tourism, visiting family and friends, cultural exchanges, or transit.
"China is committed to high-standard opening-up and will continue to introduce measures to make travel easier for foreign nationals," Lin said. "We welcome more international friends to come and experience the diversity and dynamism of China."
