
(ECNS) -- The death toll from Friday's 7.9-magnitude earthquake in Myanmar has risen to 2,719, with approximately 4,521 people injured and nearly 441 reported missing, said Myanmar's State Administration Council Chairman Senior General Min Aung Hlaing on Tuesday.
International rescuers have been racing against time to save more lives in the quake-affected areas.
The first batch of disaster-relief material provided by the Chinese government arrived at the Yangon International Airport in Yangon, Myanmar, on Monday.
The supplies included tents, blankets, and first aid kits, said Chinese Ambassador to Myanmar Ma Jia, adding that more supplies will soon arrive in Myanmar.
