(ECNS) – South China's Yunnan Province sent approximately 7.3 metric tons of disaster relief supplies, including clothing, medicines, instant noodles, and tents, to Myanmar on Sunday, after a powerful 7.9-magnitude earthquake struck the country on Friday.
It was the second batch of relief supplies from Yunnan after it sent tents, blankets, wooden folding beds, and mattresses to Myanmar on Saturday.
At around 2 p.m., the supplies departed from Kunming City on China Eastern Airlines flight MU9003 to the earthquake-affected areas in Myanmar.

According to media reports, at least 1,700 people have been confirmed dead in Myanmar.
The Chinese Embassy in Myanmar confirmed on Sunday that, as of 2:30 p.m. local time, the number of Chinese citizens injured in the Myanmar earthquake had increased to 14.
The embassy stated that it would dispatch personnel to Yangon General Hospital to assist injured Chinese citizens.
