(ECNS) -- China's foreign trade volume surpassed the 43 trillion yuan (about $5.9 trillion) for the first time in 2024, marking a 5 percent year-on-year increase and securing its position as the world's largest goods trading nation for the 8th consecutive year, the General Administration of Customs (GAC) announced Friday.
The GAC noted that the biggest challenge facing China’s foreign trade comes from external environment pressures.
In 2025, customs authorities at all levels will focus on promoting high-quality development and deeper openness. They plan to roll out targeted supporting measures to help enterprises stablize orders and expand into new markets, while also enhancing supervision and optimizing services, the GAC said.
